Default Peanut problem

Help me out you guys.
I just purchased a crap 1986 1 ton with a 454 for use in my vette.
She's a sweet runnin lower mile motor
I can't get motor numbers because of location in truck.
I don't want to dissasseble yet because I need to be able to move truck till motor pull time!

From what I gather it may or may not be a peanut head motor!
Don't care about heads anyway, I have another set of oval heads to use, but I need an intake. Are peanut head intakes the same as reg oval intakes?? Or are they small runner too? I am off to a big swap this w-end & need to know whether to shop for an intake too??
Here's the only number I can find on the intake

140 -either 8 or B- 7487 can find any listing for it??

Most aftermarket intakes for oval BB are reg. as you might expect, though you can get dual plane peanut port intakes. Port sizes are normally listed.
The low rise hoods have a hood clearance issue w/ most intakes. Many use the Torker II low rise single plane intake.
There needs to be at least about 3/4" clearance over the Holley vent tubes.

You will definately need an intake to go with your oval ports. I bought a similar engine (79 Suburban) and have had great luck with it.

Is that the correct before than year (1974)??

I'm thinking the peanut head showed up in the 90s but not sure of
that, don't waste any time or money on the peanut head if thats
whats on there. The peanut head has a different intake to match the
tiny intake ports.

I think you are correct about 74 and earlier. I have read lots of members say that they dont like the Torquer II because of the operating range 2000-6000 I think? But if you dont have a BB hood now you will need one, and you may as well get an L88 hood which fits over just about everything.
