Is This Engine Corvette Compatible?
Hey everyone, I was wondering if this engine combination was Corvette compatible - would it fit under the hood of a '75 without any modifications or is too big? Here it is....
GM Performance Parts 502ci block
10:1 compression ratio
Dart 320cc rectangle-port heads
119cc combustion chamber
Comp Cams mechanical roller
260/268 degrees duration @ 0.050 tappet lift
0.714-/0.714-inch valve lift
108-degree lobe separation angle
Dart rectangle port, single-plane intake
Holley 1,050-cfm Dominator carburetor
2-inch headers
MSD 6AL CD ignition
This combo is said to produce 605 lb-ft/torque at 5,000 RPM and 664 hp at 6,500 RPM!!! I would love to have this engine in my 'vette!
Does anyone know if this would fit? Any comments about this engine? Thanks! :chevy

It'll make the shark what it always should have been. Yes it'll fit, but you might want a taller hood with fresh air to the carb. :chevy

Jon
Good fit, check dr. side valve cover to PB booster. Get L-88 hood for 73 up.

Hey Jon,
Are you buying that engine in Canada? Can I be so nosey to ask what that set-up will cost in Canadian dollars. Man, it sounds like a wicked package! One anyone would just love to have under the hood of their shark. I'm soooooo jealous! :chevy :chevy :chevy :chevy :chevy :chevy :chevy

Won't the front suspension need to be beefed up due to the extra weight??
.....and yes I am green with envy.

I gotta cut a hole in my hood. :( But with the hole in there hmmmmmm I wouldn't have to cut a much bigger hole for a, say, Blower. yeah :D

Works for me and Rolling Thunder--L-88 hood will even fit a hi-rise intake on that bad boy. :yesnod: :chevy :yesnod:
