Could somebody please post a photo of the steeroids shaft (that area where the U-joint shaft replaces the steering box) ? I'd like to see how much clearance to the headers I would gain.
TIA
I installed a set of Hooker sheaders and side exhaust on my friends '76 with Steeroids already on it. After denting in the header, we still had to play with the shaft linkage/u-joints and grind down the set screws to make it clear. It was very much a pain in the azz. The U-joints are very very sensitive to any movement and they will bind up if they are not perfectly aligned.
I think I have some pictures at home. I'll try to check tonight.
What type of headers are you planning to run?

I'm running Hooker sidepipes with 1 3/4" primaries. I had to dent one pipe to clear the steering box and it's still a tight fit. I wonder why I'm the only one with this problem ... many forum members say it fits fine...
I am wondering for how much longer my steering box will last - the headers are heating it quiet a bit.....
I hoped that with the steeroids rack&pinion I would gain a lot of clearance in this area.
