Guys in spent all day on completing the install of the complete center console (guage cluster, shift plate, heater controls included). You would not think thats a lot of work but MAN!!! I guess I'm being fussy and tring not to damage the freshly restored parts. Well all the center guages & lights, door ajar indicator, park brake indicator, radio, heater/defroster, fiber optics, fasten seat belt indicator and lower vents work like new.
I thought I would have had the speedometer/tachometer in and the passenger side lower cover as well, well it didn't happen. I'll go back at it in the morning, AL.

Its a lot of work
It took me 10 hours to swap out the speedo on my 73
Took my time and paid attention to where everything was from the start

Well do feel better . I thought I was gettig low in my old age. This is a frame off restortion and even replaced the complete dash and fire wall insulation. It doesn't help knowing the car has been apart since 1993!! The assembely manual has been my best friend next to the fine folks on this Corvette Forum . BTW on your speedometer cable, how was that routed under the dash? AL.
Bob, Here was a question I posted earlier..... I'm unsure on the routing of the speedometer cable in the dash. The cable looks like its been rubbing the clutch pedal. How should the cable be routed? Around the pedal? Between the pedals? Thanks AL.
I hear ya Al, it is a lot of work If your resto is going anything like mine, you'll get good at taking it out, putting it back in, etc....
Wish I could help you with the speedo cable, but I have an auto
Doesn't your AIM manuel show where it goes?
Thanks for jumping in . You would have tought it would and I don't think it but will look one more time. As I posted earlier the old one was rubbing the clutch pedal. Man I'm telling you the center console was a real killer and really challanged me, AL.
Are you going to make me go out to the garage and look?
I thought you may have had known having gone threw the job resently. BTW I check out your White 73 Super Ride!!! The nice thing about the 73s are the lack of the problems of the early C3 (wiper door, ect ect) AL.

Ok...Out of the firewall just to the left of the accelerator pedal, over the steering column and under the clutch rod... no rubbing anywhere

I'll post pictures in the morning or after I finish the driver's and passenger's side lower dash, AL.
I would have thought your 73 would be the same. So in short the cable is routed to the left of the clutch pedal? AL.
When you say "routed" is this refering to where it comes through the firewall?
I can go ALL THE WAY BACK OUT TO THE GARAGE and take some pictures if you think it will help?
EDIT* The cable is on the right/passenger side, of the clutch rod
It sounds like you want to trade your Vert
Get it all back together and Ill consider it
