1981 corvette 4 bolt main??????

Default 1981 corvette 4 bolt main??????

pulled my oil pan today motor is a 2 bolt main I thought all 81 corvettes were 4 bolt please clarify if I am wrong?????

L48 = 2 bolt mains
L82 = 4 bolt mains

I did not think there was an opitional engine in 81

I wouldn't loose any sleep over it. 2 bolt is fine for street hotrodding. For high perf, an aftermarket 4 bolt kit with splayed outer bolts can be installed.

'81's only had 1 engine offered. They were called L81. They were all 2 bolt mains.
The same block was a carry over to the '82 crossfire engine. The L83.

The L81 is basically just the 1980 L48 with the CCC system.
