Default carb question

My car had a 7029207 carb on it which is a for a 69 350/350 4sp. I came across the correct carb for my 427/390 4sp which is a 7028209.

motor isn't ready to go back in yet but when I put this correct quadrajet on it for the bb it is should I have a gain in power?

what is the cfm on each?

thanks

the air flow should be the same (based on secondary air valve opening) but the fuel mixture calibration of the original carb should be much closer out of the box plus the value of the original part # core. the 7029207 is a good core but the original carb is nicer and it may be worth big$$$ if you had to buy it from someone that had one.
power about the same for either one and they flow in the 700 cfm range depending on the factory cast stop that limits how far the secondary air valves open.

They are both 750 cfm. Quadrajets were used on everything from six cylinders to 500 ci Cadillacs. There were only two sizes: 750 and 795 cfm.

Different metering rods/jets. Q-jets are tuned differently for each car. They cannot be tuned in for a generic engine size.
