Default Demon carbs choke tower removal

Anyone ever cut down or mill off the choke tower on a Demon carb for better flow of air or know of a service that does this (besides a dremel)

Thanks

is the choke tower hollow at the bottom or solid cast? i would think a grinder or dremel and some polishing dies would be one way to do it.....did you give up on the bigger demon

I have been wondering the same thing about the tower being hollow or not...I know this demon is ok, the others I have found with aluminum shavings, so much for quality control, I was also thinking of switching the main body with a proform or Holley without a choke horn, the parts should be interchangable...

Don't mill off the choke tower. The Demon carbs are set up and calibrated with the air bleeds with the tower in place. If you mill off the tower, you get virtually no flow improvement, but you do get an airflow change across the air bleeds which will screw up you high speed and low speed calibrations. Unless you want to do some serious re-calibration with air bleeds (and your Speed Demon does not have screw-in bleeds, making the job tough), leave the tower in place.

We use different metering blocks on the Mighty Demon series carburetors than the Speed Demon series carburetors. The float bowls, and baseplates would be the only things the same.
