ok heres what im wondering. i have a numbers matching 74 350, 195hp 275 ft lbs, i also have headers and flows. ok ive seen peoples 1/4 mile times for a stock corvette w/the same engine as mine same specs and everything and there times are in the 15's maybe really high 14's, but ive beaten lightnings and mustangs and even hung with LS1 camaros, so my question is can this be a stock engine because im keeping up with and beating some mid 13 second cars and this was before the exhuast work??? you think my engine has been rebuilt or its just a freak stock 350??? but i dont see how its possible that its stock. voice your opinions they are greatly appreciated
oh and its also a 3 speed auto with stock gears out back
i dont have a time slip being that ive never taken her to the track... are you calling me a liar or just trying to rule out a bad driver in the other car??? even if the driver was no good how would a car like mine fair that well agaisnt a forced induction car like that?

Time slips are a good indicator of horsepower, especially the trap speed. If your trap speed was less than 100 mph, you would have less than about 350 fwhp. If about 110, maybe 425 fwhp. This will remove any intended or unintended factor.
You beating them on the street could be from them spinning or the driver not reacting to the starting light. You will ohly know if you are faster than their car if it is timed at a track. Just because you beat them on the street does not mean you are faster it just means you got to the end first.
yeah i know time slips would tell me everything, i was just wondering, going by the stuff ive told yall, can it be stock??? Im not saying that i have a fast car or anything, all im asking is, how is my car as fast as it is for having a 195 horse 275 ft lb 350 ci engine?

Yours must have been built on Wednesday. All the really good stock motors were built on Wednesday. Monday, recovering from weekend, Tuesday, recovering from Monday, Thursday, planning the weekend, Friday CAN'T WAIT TO GO HOME!! Only leaves Wednesday to actually work and not be distracted.

1) This isn't going to win you many friends around here.
2) Take your car to the track and find out for sure how quick it is.
3) You're getting better as your posts go on but try using more capitalization and punctuation.
i believe some stock 350's are faster than others as my own experience, but only a bit.i've had quite a few over the years but it could have been diffrent rear gears and not more h.p.
