When approx do vacuum secondaries kick in? Do you need WOT?

Holley sells a secondary spring kit to tune when they come in. I don't think you have to be wide open before they open, but I may be wrong.

Vacume secondairies work as described. They will normally only open at WOT under load. Which means if you are parked and open the carb fully the chance of the seconds opening is little to none. They will only open when the engine demands more air and fuel. You can put in lighter springs to make the seconds open sooner but be careful doing this as you do not want them opening too soon. If set correctly you will not even feel the seconds open as it will be a smooth transisiton.

So if I'm not getting WOT because my throttle cable needs adjustment no secondaries..huh.. I'm about 15-20 degrees of pitch off from WOT on the primaries..

I thought my secondaries weren't kicking in. I didn't feel that kick or here it scream.

Thanks

You should have WOT on your Primaries so adjust the throttle cable so you have that. But the vacume part operates the secondaires. If you need more info give LARS here a shout and I am sure he can help you out with details.
