I bought 2 Qts. of Mobil 1 75W-90 Synthetic Differential Fluid and the GM Positraction Additive this morning and drove to a small, local shop and had them replace my Differential fluids.
Now, my Vette's differential clunks as badly (maybe worse) as it did before I replaced the fluids. Does anyone have any idea why this could be? I need to adjust my timing/carburetor because my engine races (1300 RPM at idle) and I know contributes to the clunking.
Clearly the high idle is contributing to the clunk. If original driveline, it may be time to consider replacement of u-joints and rebuild of rear diff.
