The power windows on my '78 just stopped working this morning. I put them up in the morning, parked the car, then 8 hours later, when I started the car again, the windows (both of them) no longer would come down. Any ideas on a possible cause?
With both of them out the fuse would be the first place to look. It's pretty easy to pop the fuse, if it's the incorrect one, by holding the switch a bit too long after the window is all the way up. At least on my '76 it happened quite often until I got the proper breaker.
The fuse is definately the first place to look since they both quit working at the same time. The next thing to go are the switches in the console. Dirt gets into them corroding the contacts causing them to be slow to work and slowly quit working.

where's the fuse for the power windows on a 75? They went down then didn't come up but I can't find a fuse. I know where the fuse panel under the dash is but none of them go to the power windows or so it looks. ANy help would be appreciated

the main power supply for the pw relay PLUGS in to the fuse panel
think it is a heavy gauge pink wire very easy to kick with your left foot
make sure its still pluged in
still plugged in
i dunno i'm famboozled. I cannot hear the relay click. Does this mean the relay is bad or i'm not getting power to the relay? any advice? I have power at the fuse box going to that plug. I cannot find a relay under my ash tray. Which is hwere the wiring diagram I have says it should be.
