Default Rear clunking

Well I got this 79, and you can hear a little clunking back there on the left side while driving. I check the u-joints and they are all tight, no play. I take the wheel off and let the car run in neutral and it's hard to pinpoint the sound, but when you put your hand on the trailing arm you can feel the clunking.

Do I need a new trailing arm or is it possible just to replace the hub, or is that even the problem for sure? I really don't want to spend 180 on a new Trainling arm as I am already overbudget on this unit.

First don't run it with the suspension hanging down or you will have joint problems. If hte joints are tight look at the front rubber snubber bushing. It is a 2 piece bushings that breaks down over time. if there is play in the wheel bearings you need to check them close before they lock up. where you can buy a rebuilt trailing arm for $180 is odd? I rebuild them and they run around $375 each. Is it just the arm you're talking about?

This doesn't sound like what you're talking about, but does it do it only when going around tight turns and only when it's hot? If so, it's the posi clutches in the differntial. If this sound like yours, drain and replace the fluid. Be sure to put the posi additive in when you add the new fluid. Zip sells what you need in a kit, I think for $39.

Yup that is just the arm, I typically get and work on C4's this thing is new to me.

The thing clicks/clunks constantly when going straight, braking, hot or cold.
