I have a 1969 L71 4 speed manual... the reverse light have never work as long as I had the car. I am pretty sure it is the Switch, but I have no idea where to find it... I checked on the shifter (and broke the fiber optic lense in the process), I checked all over the the transmission and the shifting linkage... I know what the part looks like, but I can't find it. Can anyone help?
Ok so I've checked all around the transmission... removed the heat insulation so I can make sure nothing was underneath it. I see nothing on or aorund the transminssion that resembles wires, switches, or switch mounthing bracket. Can someone tell me where the wires come from so maybe I can find where it was cut?
Once I know wher the wiring is and how to get it back to the transmission area I can buy the switch and other related hardware. It would also be nice to know where the wiring is, so I can test it.
Any suggestions, descriptions, or diagrams would be apprecitated.

Bracket, switch and rod
There should be a bracket that is bolted to the tail housing. The switch assembly is mounted to the bracket and a small rod connects to the switch from the reverse arm on the transmission.
