I didn't shim the spider gears. The shims are right next to the clips that hold the yokes in place. I bought ring type shims that slide over the ends of the yokes then I snap in the clips. This forces the end of the yokes against the center bar. I wouldn't have them so tight in a street driven car as they will wear faster. If I'm right the play in the spider gears should not be affected?
Well assuming the Yokes are in good condition... I have no other complaint about my rear... can I just put new c-clips on and it will be fixed?
If the yoke still has plenty of meat before the groove for the snap ring, yes you can re-use it. Considering all the work in doing this, though, I'd replace the yokes if I saw ANY wear.
What about the posi unit? With the car on stands, tranny in gear (auto in park), can you turn the wheel? A good posi will not let you turn it.

Well considering the price of the yokes... I am going to re-use them if they are in good condition. I only plan on changing the c-clips and seals.
When the car is on stands and in gear... I can not move the wheel with all my strength.
