Default Emergency flashers not working

Any ideas of what could be wrong? My turn signals and brake lights function fine. When I push in the emergency flasher ****, the dash signals flash on and off, but nothing happens with my front and rear lights. Could it be a bad emergency flasher switch? If so, are they hard to replace?

My round flasher fuse thingy is located behind the passenger vent just in front of the door below the dash. It's not hard to replace, if I remember correctly, the door sill has to come off then its pretty much self expainitory how to take the plastic vent cover off.

That one is only for the turn signals. The flasher for the emergency signals is on the fuse box.

Correct me if I am wrong... if his dash signals flash on and off when he puts the emergency flashers on... then it isn't the emergency flasher.

I would take a multimeter and check for voltage or ground in the harness going to the fuse block from the steering column

It's not the flasher units (since the turn signals work and the dash indicators flash with the emergency switch). I think the only place left to consider is in the contacts in the steering column. That's where the lines to the dash indicators and to the outside bulbs get split. The signal is being produced properly and it is going to the dash indicators, but not the outer bulbs. Must be in the column. Good luck.
