He and Jim tripped across it at Bowling Green first and had he been a lesser mortal, he could have easily snaked it out from under me.
I would never question his character. Maybe his ideas on Corvette building, but not his character.

I am actually cheering Patrick on and would probably be copying exactly what he is doing if I hadn't lucked into the "unobtanium" Dana 60 IRS thanks to him and Jim, and I wasn't planning on running in a Drag Week class that I wouldn't qualify for with the solid axle 4-link setup.
Et tu Brute?

If Patrick's 68 was some historically significant, ultra rare, Bloomington Gold Survivor, NCRS 99.999 point yada yada yada, then I could see getting a little bent over his plans. But his car falls into the category that most of ours do, i.e. aint perfect so do what makes you happy. Life is to damn short to be building these cars to make someone else happy so I say do what works for you.
I couldn't agree more. In case you haven't noticed, mine isn't exactly a Top Flight contender either.

I know one thing for sure, Patrick is no slouch and does absolutely nothing half-assed. His car will be first rate, top notch and kick-*** when he is finished and I can't wait to see that bad boy run at Bowling Green.
Yup, that's obvious with all Patrick has already done. VERY impressive. I also can't wait to see him run that bad boy at Bowling Green. It will be my honor to finally meet Patrick in person.

Speaking of bad boys running at Bowling Green, you are planning on bringing yours in 07 ... right ....? A license plate from New Hampshire in the "The Chair of Shame" at the "Texas Embassy" just isn't going to cut it next year. We very much expect to see your smiling face pulling up in your Bad-*** car. : )
I'll be there. Turnabout is fair play: will you be driving your monster to Bowling Green next year? Speaking of which, how are things progressing? I understand there has finally been some progress on your 632 short block?

Take care,

Mark

PS- I just re-read that.....uh oh......Ok I didn't see THAT chassis...but I saw the one for the Vette!!
Jim, do you think you could tuck it away in your suitcase on the next trip back from WASHINGTON!!! While I'm at it, why don't I pull the body and use the whole frame? It should be on the road by 2010!
Honestly, I would love to do just that but I have such a desire to finally drive this car on a regular basis. It's like having having Pamela Anderson as a girlfriend and not getting to take her for a test ride! It's killing me!
I was trying real hard to pull this off w/o backhalfing the car. (Mark would withhold the margarita recipe from us.) I do think there are others who are at this stage of their project who would benefit more from the frame Steve has. I really like me, so I very seldom tell me NO, but in the best interest of my marriage I had better pass. I need this project finished enough (for the time being) to get her house built and my new shop where she can park in the garage again. I know 2 years from now, when I will be ready, I will regret passing such a good opportunity.
Thanks Steve, it's a great offer, but common sense and fear of going without any lovin' makes me decline!

Mark,
Progress has finally been made on the short block and heads. If the Corvette gods are willing, I will be driving it to BG. I need to drive it to BG to shake down all of the highway bugs before Drag Week.

BTW, How many miles do you now have on the Isky Red Zones?

No problem. I mainly want to get this thing out of my shop - it's taking up too much room. I keep threatening to cut it up and store the major components. When I read that you were going to put a 9" in your car, I thought this might be the way to go. If you change your mind, let me know. The price will be very good.

Glad to hear finally some progress on your engine. It could be quite the gathering of C2 & C3 muscle at BG.

I'm actually running Crower w/ HIPPO lifters and have >5000 miles on them.

C'mon. Patrick...it's a custom built Art Morrison chassis that a C-3 body bolts on!! Yeah, if you go the whole way, you gotta do some floorboard surgery.....but the back half deal could be easy???

I know, I know.....you want to bolt it all in a little easier with stock rails. I swear that many years ago there was an article in one of the mags where they installed a 9" and moved stock frame rails inboard. But you want to leave rails in place right?

Yea, I was gonna leave the frame untouched and use the L-88 flares and backspacing to solve the tire fitment issues. I want to use my stock fuel tank.

OUCH!! That hurts to watch!! Man...he smacked that wall hard. Looks a lot like the hit that C-5 took in Bowling Green last summer.

There's always a lot of discussion about C-clip eliminators. The add on type put a lot of load on the axle and you have to make sure your axles are designed for street use and cornering. Or make them REAL big!!
