Default Lars just 1 more question about tuning

Sice I got you to open this thread I lied 4 more questions.

1 The car runs better on full manifold vacuum port. I plugged the Timed spark vacuum port. I had PCV hooked up to full vacuum port, what do I do with PCV, use a Tee? I have Power brake vacuum port hooked up to power brake. The only port I have open is Timed Spark.

2 The Holley spring kit comes with one white spring only but it does have a long and short yellow. I have the white in the vacuum advance, no short white in kit, just white.

3 I tried to put some grease on the shaft of the secondarys to see if it smeared the shaft, so I knew if it was opening or not. I think it is

4 Dist is shimmed and advance comes in at 2900 RPM at 36 degrees. Initial is 12 degrees.

I appreciate the time
Dennis

1. Use whichever vacuum source to the vacuum advance control unit that produces best quality idle. You can "T" the power brake line for PCV - that works fine in spite of comments to the contrary that I have seen here on the Forum.

2. I have 2 Holley Spring kits part number HLY-20-13 in my hand right now. They both have 2 white springs in them: One tall and one short. I use the short white spring during all my tuning on the Tuning for Beer Tours. Really. There is a short white spring... If you don't have one, use the short yellow -that's the second softest spring.

3. Put a paper clip on the secondary diaphragm rod up against the housing. As it open, it will make the paper clip slide down the shaft. You can then see how far it's opening up.

4. Sounds good.
