Angelo, I can't wait to see your car in person.. I've only seen videos so far.. I'll be racing at the National Corvette Race in Richmond in February.. I'll be running the 10.0 index as also the brackets.. I wish that my car was that fast... I'm hoping to hit 9's with a 100 shot but 7's are very far away
tell me about ur combo.do u juice it ? cu in..we will have a ball in Virgnia..ill sell the rear-dana -axles spool -wilwood brakes ,shocks, 4link, Strange double adj.coil overs out of my car--ill make sure there straight first

My combo?
406 small block naturally aspirated, 12.8:1 compression, Dart Pro 1 heads..... Ran 10.76 @ 125 mph in 2800 DA... Best was 10.72 @ 126.50... all engine.. I'm using a regular 4-bolt block and I can't spray too much. My next build will be on a race block.
I will install a Edelbrock 100 - 250 shot going in in December. I will only spray 100 - 125 HP or so as I'm concerned about the main caps as the factory 4-bolt 400 blocks aren't too strong. My transmission is the weakest link. It's built to 800 HP and is a TH200R4. The rear end is a Ton's 12-bolt IRS setup with 3.5 or 4 inch half shafts with 1480 u-joints and 31/32 spline axles. I'm still running a posi but will upgrade to a spool next year.
I want to run 9's with a 100 shot in cold weather with my current setup.
My next setup will be a 422, 427 or 434 small block with a Race Block, 15:1 compression and a 250 shot of spray. Want to run 9's on engine and 8's on spray with that setup but I'll only upgrade when my current needs rebuilding..
My C3 weights about 2790 lbs without driver and fuel and about 3000 lbs with driver, gear and fuel. Lightweight rear brakes are going in right now and I hope to drop the weight to 2750 lbs.. Still want to install lexan windshield and windows which should reduce the weight by another 30 lbs.. The goal is to get the car below 2700 lbs empty and about 2900 lbs with driver and fuel..

Do u have the stock tank? It worked for me, took out stock tank, put in a 8 gal. and the orig. gas lid opens and the 8 gal. lines up . there was more room, saved alot of weight . WE, my buddy and I built a 66' with a 406...powerglide, small cam ..roller..600 lift..255 .050 dur. 2 stage nos...car goes 9.8...Toms rear also..i think 175 hit then 150. it lasted about 70 passes. 3000 street miles just rebuilt it,kept it the same.

Put 18 deg. heads on it ,get it over with, then u can go 8's

I have a 5 gallon RJS fuel cell with #8 braided hose fuel system...
I will go with a powerglide once my TH200R4 craps out. I already got 150 passes on the 200R4...

I want to keep sidepipes and noone makes sidepipes for 18 degree heads... Greg Eaton runs 8.60's in his small block Vette with the same 23 degree heads that I have.. However, somehow his were machined to accept larger valves.. My valves are only 2.08/1.60 valves...

Oh Boy.....somebody else to give Oliver a hard time.
18 degree heads would be a big step, if he does that he needs to think very seriously about a solid axel. 18* heads, solid axel, powerglide and a bunch of nitrous would put that car in the 8.5 range pretty easy.
I do not think my car will run a 7.0 with a conventional head 555, but it might go a 7.3xx. We will see how fast I can ramp in the power. Have you tried bringing the nitrous in on a progressive, rather than ramping the timing?
I am hoping with my big tire (33x15) tube chassis car I can leave on the motor and plate...and then bring in the fogger on a progressive (as much and as soon as the track, chassis, etc will handle.)
If everything works right and I make 1400-1500 hp with both units flowing, it should run a low 7 at over 190 mph.....we will see.
My chassis is only certified to 7.5..so I will only be able to make a banzia run every now and then.
If you are looking for some 18* heads pm me I have a nice of DEI heads for sale.
I'm hoping a buddy of let's me drive his new outlaw 10.5 66 vette next year, you guys are making me miss going real fast.I took my C-3 out Sunday for its 1st pass ever, and at 11's it felt turtle slow.

Might think about to 33x17x16's if it tire shake's.
I was talking to a friend of mine,he has a killer new motor.870 inches of nitrous madness
Nick--"Vettemaniac" is putting together a pump gas N/A 638" right now to put in his '72. He has shortblock together..heads will be done this week hopefully.
Have you ever made any N/A passes with it? Was it always a Big Chief headed motor? Any dyno numbers from it?

JIM
on motor car goes best 8.8--(pass after pass+9.2)...........rear wheel dyno one stage 275 hit----1100+HP.........past 5 years big chief
WOW - 8.8 on motor is fast!! What's the biggest shot that you have used on that engine?
it always changes if u have a 250 shot and add fuel pres. and retard the timming u can only get,example,200 or less OR lower press add timming and make 325. so i can say two shots equaling 500 total

I wonder what fuel pressure I'll have to run to a 100 shot? I'm thinking in branching the nitrous off at the regulator which is set to 6.5 - 7 lbs of pressure.. Will this be enough?
