Is there a bracket you got somewhere for this or are you making one custom?

Makes working on your project much easier. Thats one of the things I really like about the C4 style, pop the hood and you have access to everything.

Lookin good, big G, how progress?

Yes, it's an Ecklers tilt front end...takes all of 30 seconds to remove (1 electrical connector and 2 bolts). Got it pretty much stripped down, engine comes out tomorrow night. Installed the Vette Products tubular upper a-arms and that helped drop the blower below the hood line. (It was hitting the arm). The 12 rib blower crank pulley just clears the frame, won't need to relieve the frame. Will need to add an idler pulley to give belt clearance over the a-arm cross-shaft though.

I like the functionality of the ecklers tilt nose but I really like my flip-up headlights and chrome bumpers...if only I could have it all! as with everything in life.

I don't know how much clearance you should give yourself for the insane amount of torque you will now have on hand but the SC bracket looks close. There might be a rule of thumb for clearance, maybe a 1/4 inch or so depending on what type of motor mounts you're running. I assume you're going with poly or solid to limit torque flex. It would suck to stomp on the GO pedal and bend/break the SC bracket. Maybe even notch the SC bracket with a grinder if it won't affect structural integrity so you have more clearance with the A-arm.
AND don't forget to take beer breaks to stay hydrated, just not too many or that thing might get installed upside-down.

Should be plenty of clearance now, it is resting on the alignment shim, and that location gives me about 1.5 inches of hood clearance, minimum. I thought the high/hit point would be the discharge port, but that actually has more clearance than the pulley. Now to modify the p/s brackets so the pulley will line up.

You're making good progress Big_G. We need heaters in our garages up north here to get that kind of work done this time of year, then have to wait to see our results. Keep up the good work, must be pretty exciting!

What makes you think I don't have a heater in my garage? It does get cold here in Texas, just not as often as is other parts.

Got everything back from the machine shop yesterday. Now I will re-check clearances and re-assemble. Should have it good to go back in this weekend. Then I need to configure fuel pump and return line.
