I don't know what that means. I do know what MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price ) means. This is a "suggested" selling price. AFAIK, Pro-Charger (ATI) does not allow retail sales of their kits, unlike Vortec. Technically, only the dealer can be the installer. I'm sure this is to help insure the units only get installed on engines built to handle the increased power.

I think it was meant as more of a ?. As in is this the price you would ask for the kit of the members of The Corvette Forum?

As a dealer, I belive I cannot sell to anyone, forum member or not. Only for "at my shop" installs. But I have seen units and kits for sale on-line. That said, I'm sure I could "work something out"...

750 fwhp should be easy, maybe a little more. Torque should be around 650 at the crank

At last. I have been waiting for someone to do exactly this. Some time ago I did provisional calculations to see whether a Vortech unit would fit under hood of my L36 427. Conclusion was that it would just about fit in the same position as yours. I was originally unsure if it was mounted as close as possible to underside of the hood/fender (not wanting a custom hood) if the upper A arm would run the risk of hitting the underside of the blower casing when suspension was on maximum deflection. I shall be replacing front springs soon and will take this opportunity to 'mock-up' the A arm without the spring and take measurements etc. Your answer of using tubular A arms is interesting, are you saying that this is the only way?. Does the blower now sit lower in between the A arm tubes?. How will you route cool air to inter/charge cooler and then to carb? and do you envisage the effect of all this on underhood temperatures? I am really interested in your findings here.

That stinks because I can put together a high $ engine and have a Bridgeport mill sitting in my garage, but I have to buy a used ATI Procharger if I want one on my car because they don't feel I'm qualified to install their product onto my car even though I have the means to make what I'll need

Where I work, we make the gears that go into the ATI Prochargers

I am trying to do this as clean as possible. I am about done with the intercooler plumbing...maybe a few more hours. The only other C-3 I have seen they tilted the radiator towards the engine about 4 inches so the intercooler pipes that go over the radiator support have clearance. My tilt-nose creates a lot of extra work, as the tilt supports intersect with the intercooler pluming. Another work-around..LOL. Hood clearance with a carb. will be a big issue if using a stock hood. Maybe an L-88 would work out. The tubular A-arms were a must, as it is now the lower blower bracket is resting on the alignment shims. Should not affect under-hood temps. ,just a little reduction in radiator airflow, as the intercooler covers about 40% of it. Pics in a few days, after I weld up the intercooler pipes.

I tried a Procharger P600b on my 427 was going to do same mount on drivers side and put alt on pass.didn't think of tubular A-arms.Maybe wouldv'e fit with them except i don't think it wouldv'e had enough clearance if iI'd gotten on it to hard and got off quick do to motor mounts.....I gave up went to 174B&M not enough boost....going to 8-71....procharger going back on my 77 T/A....go luck hope it all fits!!!

Default Finally got blown tonight (get your mind out of the gutter)

Fired her up at 10 pm tonight, takes some of the pain of sending Uncle Sam several G's next week... Ran it in the garage without the carb. hat to purge the intercooler plumbing of debris and I was impressed at how much air the ProCharger put out at idle. Revved it up and the volume of discharged air was incredible! Now to modify the tilt nose pivots to clear the intercooler plumbing. I can't wait to get her on the road.
