Which car would you take to a rally-x or to play with in the snow?
Which car has the better aerodynamics for top-end potential?
The answers are pretty obvious. But which car is quicker in a 1/4 mile or faster on a road course? That all depends on the mods.
The brakes, suspension, drivetrain and engine on my 500awhp WRX wagon are set up for track days. Launching is no problem and staying in boost is simple, but until I do the body mods needed to mount the bigger rubber, even my stock C6 -- once it's delivered -- will outbrake it in the corners.
Which car would I rather look at in the garage?
If it's snowing, that would be the vert... if it's sunny outside, it'd have to be the subie.
To equate 'ricer' with Japanese design is, at a minimum, out of touch.

A lot of us in the import tuner scene -- regardless of ethnic origin -- peuk at the ricer mods, especially on Evos and Rexes. Many of us go stealth: minus the tinted windows and aftermarket exhaust tip, my debadged WRX wagon with a low-profile induction hood scoop is pretty much a 911-munching sleeper.
...one could not call an STI rice any more than a Porsche as they share the same engine and basic drivetrain (this might not be true, but this is what i recall).
Not true about the drivetrain... and while some Porsches are AWD, their design is different from the Subaru 'symmetrical' AWD which simutaneously powers each wheel.
More true about the engine. They're certainly not the same engine, but they share a key design feature...
both have a flat, horizontally-opposed-piston -- or 'boxer' -- powerplant. Beyond the distinctive rumble,
this gives you the ability to lower the engine and the car's overall center of gravity.
I am the proud owner of a highly modified 2004 WRX and 2007 C6 Z51 MN6. My little subie is a monster for a 4 cylinder car, but let's not compare a Corvette against a 4 door rally inspired vehicle. There is no comparison between the two. Sure you can make a WRX quick in the straight line and just as fast in the turns, but come on I bought a Corvette because well it's a Corvette and outperforms 95% of all cars period out of the box. Don't lose a race to a car and get upset, every car out there has potential to be as fast as the next, just be glad we are driving Corvettes and not geo metros =)

Yeah I'm the same way, I like my cars to look very stock on the outside and catch people by surprise
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
