Yea but do you really need the extra oil sheding properties., seems like the possible down side outweighs the up side. Oh yea, I'm for a rebuild thread. i love them.,

turtle, bore and stroke are still stock (well, .030 over). it's just a ground up rebuild of mostly stock parts, although i do have a couple surprises in mind.
TT, glad to see someone else out there with some experience. i've thought of trying it before but availability and time/cost have been prohibitive before now.
this will be very much like a stock/mild performance rebuild, but with a focus on longevity and "hidden" power. after re-reading power secrets, i really wish i had the project to build a long rod motor but that's a bit of overkill for what i'm doing now. in fact, this is only stage 1 of what i project to be a 3 stage project. stages 2 and 3 will come as money gets better and will involve FI and aluminum heads. this will be by far the most time and effort intensive stage as this is the foundation for everything i'm planning in the future.
