Using Summit's Brand

Anyone out there used Summit's own brand of stuff, cam, heads, etc. ? I dont mean just from their catalog, i mean using their "brand".

i know some of the billet brackets are made by zoops and tagged as summit....

that's all i know....

I bought a Summit 12 bolt aluminum rear end cover. I could find absolutely nothing wrong with it and it was stamped "Made in the USA". I was impressed with the quality.

I'm using their full length headers, no problems with them at all, and great value.

the hose ends are made by goodridge and ...well they are just too easy to assemble, if you are used to assembling aeroquip and xrp the ease with which these go together and the clamping force on the hose is worrysome, I'm sure they are up to the task but for automotive purposes only. They do look neat though w/ the laser etched logo. If you are shooting for that nice look without breaking the bank they are for you.

I have used their cams and other parts, using one now with good results. I usually try and buy the Summit brand, always seem like great parts at outstanding prices.

I have used their gauges and other parts. They are usually a little cheaper than anyone else, too.

I put a "summit" cam (made by Crane) in a '75 Camaro way back in 1990. It's still running strong to this day.

I had a Summit crank damper on the 72 350 this summer. Worked fine and it had degree marks/numbers etched in so setting timing was very easy.

I have a summit cam in my Vette, and I had one in my El Camino. I think Crane makes them for them, and you can almost match the specs in their catalogue. Saved money and they work great.

thanks for the overwhelming responses. i was looking at using one of their cams along with a set of their double hump heads that are sale. think i'll go that route. thanks again.

Summit doesn't make most of their stuff, it's made by quality companies and sold under the Summit name.

I used a Summit cam and lifters for my 383 build and am completely happy with it. Can't beat the price, plus I had a coupon and it only cost me 40 bucks to my front door.

I have their alluminum roller rockers on my 65 with good results. I tried one of their earlier electric fuel pumps that didn't work so well. It leaked right after I installed it. They took it back without any hassle. I don't think you will have any trouble with them standing bhind their products.

I have that head on my L 48 and it really woke it up.
