I'm having a devil of a time up here in Canada trying to get parts to step up performance with. Lately I'm looking for the HEI distributor recurve kit. Is it still available and does anyone know an honest soul who can help provide such a part kit? I used to drag a big block Nova years ago and I remember that recurving as lotsa fun and a very effective modification. I do have family in the Boston area so if anyone knows a good performance contact in that area please pass along some web-sites or contact info. Thanks for the info all!

Ditto the above post....the guys name is Lars Grimsrud in Denver, CO and everybody raves abt his work....perhaps he'll see your post...He sells a kit that all of 'em like... :yesnod: :flag
Lars has done a LOT of research on our cars and their ignition and has put together an excellant kit. Not only does Lars have the kit you are looking for, but the kit comes with EXTREMELY detailed instructions and Lars is ALWAYS willing to help you out via phone if you are having problems getting it tuned and set up.
I used Summit's HEI recurve kit (which looks very similar to Mr. Gasket, Trans Dapt, etc., w/ weights, center plate, & springs) and had problems with getting a smooth curve. The kit produced a quick initial jump and then plateau'd and then brought in a few more degrees at the top (not good). To remedy this jerky curve, I went back to stock weights & center plate. So, long story made short, the aftermarket type kits may be junk. I think Lars shares that opinion and that's what prompted him to make his own. Although I don't run Lar's kit, I'm confident that the recommendations made above is true.

I found your e-mail address off your Forum profile, and I'm sending you out some copies of the information packages that we did here on the Forum when we were developing and releasing the kits. I little background, history, and some tech info for you to look through. I can ship to Canada without problem... shipping just runs a couple bucks more.
For anyone else who wants any of this info and background on the curve kits, drop me an e-mail, and I'll send you the Forum Posts and the tech articles that we did some time ago regrading the kits and their function. And, as always, if anyone needs any info on the subject, please contact me and I'll do my best to assist in any way possible.
