Default Rear end trouble, help!

Since my U-joints were replaced earlier this year, I still had clunks when driving slowly for a while (traffic jam). These cluncks also made the car shudder or even 'hop'.

Yesterday this also happened after a short period of slow driving (alsmost immediatly) and at one clunk the vette even moved sideways a little!

After a search I came to the conclusion cluncks when driving or shifting can have these causes:
- Transmission Mount
- Diff Mount
- U-Joints
- Transmission yoke worn
- Diff needs revision

The hopping as if a wheel is blocked really worries me. At speed no troubles at all. Any thoughts on this?

I'll first change the diff oil, but I don't think that will solve the problem...

Help!

check you t-arm bushings also.....they might be gone and that could be giving you extra motion/play.....

also look at the engine mounts.......

This should be the first thing to do....you'd be surprised what a change that may make....

Change rear end fluid now! Make sure to add the GM additive.

Default Been there done that.

That happened to me, check to see if your front diff pinion bushing is worn. It will cause that hop at low speeds, sort of jerk the car especially at intersections but is fine when driving at speed.

Trailing arm bushings make the car jump to the side when you first get on the gas after coasting. You can also feel the care jump to the side when you first let off the gas.
