C3 Parking light problem

C3 Parking light problem
Need some help on this one!
Parking lights and side markers stay on if the engine is running and the headlights have been turned on, then off. If you don't first turn on the headlights, this dosen't happen.
If the engine is off and you turn the headlights on, then off , this dosen't happen. The blinkers appear to be operating correctly.
In other words, if you run the engine, then turn on the headiights, then turn them off, the parking lights and the side marker lights stay on as long as the engine stays running. If you shut off the engine then start it, the above lights do not come on.

just a wild stab in the dark. is this a recently acquired vehicle, or is this a suddenly developed problem? if this is a newly purchased vehicle, check for a relay that's run off the headlight switch that controls the parking lights. it may be getting hot when you turn on the lights and sticking closed. possibly the same problem with the head light switch itself. look for any wiring that doesn't seem factory.
