i have a 79 vette with a 325 hp motor and edelbrock 600 cfm carb. i also have a msd 8365 distributor. im supposed to have a mechanical advance of 21 degrees.and its all in by about 2300 rpms and i set the initial at 15 degrees. but when i step on it she falls flat on her face. lars if your on here please help or anyone that knows how to fix my baby
yes i read that but i still dont know why its falling on its face when i step on it. under light load it seems good but when i step on it and start to speed up it loses power and bogs down

Disregard initial timing and set your total to 36. Once the total is set, run your vacuum advance off manifold vacuum and see what happens. If it still falls on its face, you're likely lean. Check accel pump function and then richen it up.
okay i talked to atk my engine builder and he said to change the springs in my metering rods on my carb. thinks its lean. thank you lars and everyone for the advice
