Default Winter breakdown and Detailing

Started taking the 77 apart today. Started with the rocker panels and sill plates. What a great surprise. I just bought the car in November and havent yet taken it apart. Very solid car. Here are some pics of the sills after the plates were removed. Not any rust or rot at all.

I have heard a lot of horror stories about guys taking the sills and rockers off and finding alot of damage. I am very lucky. This car I beleive has only had a paint job and all numbers match even the carb. I will be posting pics as I tear her down. I am going to tackl;e the interior first. Enjoy.

Welcome to the fun or craziness of loving vettes.
Umm,, the pics you are posting are in fact fiberglass covers of the rocker chanels which are underneith,, just above the frame. Jack the car up and take a look with a good light. But if I'm not mistaken, (not sure what year) your floor pans are steel,, if they are sound its a good sign.

Heres some pics of the front body mount on the drivers side. I will replace the mounts but the brackets seem to be in good shape except for some minor surface rust. Also pics of the floors. No rot or surprises. Yet!

You might want to remove the kick panels and look for rust. Also the access panel infront of the rear wheel. This will show you the condition of the #2 and #3 body mounts
