I talked to Dan at M&R Engines. Their kit will costs me about $760.00 to my door, which is about $100 less than the other suppliers I called. Here are some of the info on the components:

Crank - RPM brand (he said that it is the same supplier that supplies Eagle and Scat

Rods - RPM brand (cam-clearanced and bushed)

Pistons - Speed Pro H859CP (-12cc)

Bearings - Clevite

Rings - single moly

Comes externally balanced with flex and balancer.

I have never heard of RPM, what are some of your thoughts on this kit?

I'm getting their "RPM" brand forged rotating assembly with the KB -12cc pistons.
I believe it's just like the "Summit" brand or other re-packaged items.... Eagle/Scat cranks are not all made in the USA either... the Eagle nodular iron crank sells for $200 - it cannot be made in the USA

I think you're getting the same crank but a different box.....

here's a link to RPM's website, look at the "about us" section - they're at least honest and say that their stuff comes from China....

I don't see the link. I tried finding their site earlier but was unsuccessful.

Ask them about a lower grade forge crank like 5140 steel and internally balanced.

Thanks for the advice. I called them and to upgrade to the forged 4130 internal balance crank is about $100.00.

I hope you dont regret it. Comprable parts that came from GM would cost somewhere around $1500.00. Dont forget "you get what you pay for" and "Its always more expensive the second time around".

I agree in principle. But, the fact that to replace all of a car's parts is much more expensive than the original car goes to show how much mark up there is in aftermarket parts.

That's why I would like to see if anyone is running any of the RPM equipment.
