Are any of you running one of the CSR or Holley billet type brackets. I wanted to know if these units work with our stock type throttle cables. In pictures I can't see where you can pinch the little metal square "barrel". Also wanted to know if they will fit under the 2 inch drop big block air cleaner base. I have a carb with a baseplate that doesn't have a spot for the tang on the stock bracket to keep it from turning on throttle input. Thanks,
Im not sure yet, But I think your talking about this one Summit Part # HLY-20-112 ,
I just ordered it to try and best adapt my stock cable to a new street avenger carb. Ill know next week, but Im interested too, if anyone knows right now...
Yes that is the Holley bracket I was looking at. That is a good picture, I just can't see how the cable is held by the bracket. Does it pinch as the stock cable bracket does? Thanks for the help.
No it doesen't clamp like the stock one. It is a square hole the later cables will work 77 up. Push the cable in the hole and two tabs spread out and retain it to the bracket.
have the throttle bracket from jegs and new stainless cable from lokar works great. Not sure if this helps because the cable was designed to attach to this bracket
Sly, the Lokar piece looks nice but I don't think that bracket will work for me. I need a bracket that mounts into 2 carb holes since my carb baseplate has no tab to kkep any bracket that mounts in 1 hole form turning and I don't want to just overtighten the carb bolt. Will that Lokar cable work with the CSR or Holley bracket? 69 Vettester, I will look forward to hearing what happens when you get that bracket. I t seems as if I need a 77 and up cable. Thanks for the help.

OK, I see your point about the 77 and up cable, But Im looking at Sly's note about the LoKar Kit, its the whole enchilada and is $30 less than the Holley bracket ..I may very well cancel that $89 Holley and get the Lokar Kit for $59 , Check it out Bill, Do you see anything I may have Missed?? http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

The Lokar has built in to their bracket a bolt or screw that allows you to adjust the angle of the cable as it approches the carb I think that it really may solve your problems!!!
That Lokar kit looks great and I have a couple of buddies with that cable and they are great and should work great for you. However, in my case I need a bracket that mounts to 2 carb studs. That Lokar looks as if it mounts the same way as the OEM. It looks as if it mounts to 1 carb stud with the tang that keeps it from rotating. I have a carb baseplate without anything for the tang to but up against so I am back to square 1. I wonder if the Lokar type cable will work with the CSR or Holley bracket. Is it the same type of hold down for the cable? Anyone know? Do you have a drop base air cleaner 69 Vettetester?
Hmm, yeah Im pretty sure either bracket will work on Mine , they are both universal so "should" accomodate The "Tab to keep from pivoting" issue. I have that tab also on the setup Im replacing. Seems The Lokar would work just as well plus I get a new braided cable and it cost less.Thats how Im looking at it.
I do have a drop base canister..Its a K&N 1.25" drop. and a Banjo fitting. Not sure what the extra .75" drop on yours will mean?
Heres the best pic I have, My stock cable is ratty and so is the bracket on my old 4150 holley. And wont set up to the street avenger on My new Engine anyway. So... I think the Lokar looks real clean too..Ill post a pic when I get it set up
