Default Front wheels 15X3.5/4"

The plan for my newly aquired 76 is to make it a street legal, small tire race car. I have just about settled on what I'm doing with the motor and suspension to start with. Since I have a plan in place that I can afford, its time to start buying parts.

I seem to have run in to a snag selecting my front wheels. When I had the front tires off it this weekend. I specifically noticed the front caliper stickes out past the brake rotor hub (where the wheel bolts to) about 1" by my tape measure. Now this creates a problem for the new M/T ET 15X3.5 drag wheels I was planning on buying for the car. Since they are a "flat face" wheel on the back I would need at least a 1" spacer. The only other wheels I considerd buying for the car were the Hole Shot Stars and Bogarts which are of course the same flat faced desgin. I don't like the idea of using a spacer. Plus I think with only 1.75 B/S on a 3.5" wheel it may stick out of the fender I didn't think to do any measuring on how wide the body is in that area compared to where the wheel may be with a spacer. Maybe the 2.25 B/S wheel would fit in the body with the needed spacer. Due to just finishing the motor for my 92 and buying the 76 I don't have the $$ to go all out right now on modifying the 76 so different brakes are not an option, I need to stay with the stock 4 piston stuff.

Anyone got any ideas? I know people love Bogarts, Hole Shot and Monocauque wheels in the Stocker classes and there are plenty of c-3 Corvettes running there. Anyone know how they put them on there? I'd perfer not to have the Convo Pros or Weld Drag Lites or Pro Stars everone else has, nothing against them they are nice wheels and all I just like something else.
thanks
Will

Put the small Wilwood calipers on the front. They will give you alot more clearance and save a bunch of weight compared to the stock setup. I think they even sell a whole new hub, rotor, caliper setup. Check out their website. There are some other companies out there too that are making brackets to mount Wilwood's Dynalite calipers to the stock spindle/rotor.
