At the moment, the engineer in me is intrigued. The Corvette enthusiast in me is dry heaving.

Now all he needs is a banks turbo setup to go with it, actually I bet it would run pretty good with it. I built a 6.5 with a banks turbo and put in my 87 suburban when the 6.2 got tired and its pretty snappy now.

Pluses and minuses
It would probably tow better that any vette ever made. Fuel eco would be about unbeatable......provided you could find a 2.07 (or there abouts) rear end.
Top speed with just about any rear end chevy offered would be under 70 unless you crammed some type of O/D tranny into it. Smell and noise would be over the top.
Nice conversation piece, but don't think I would want to own one. Went to a vette show in Houston this past weekend. Some were butchered pretty bad. None as bad a putting a diesel under the hood.

If done right diesel can be stupid fast AND still get great mpg. Just look at the Audi R10's and Gale Banks' rig he took to the salt.
