I purchased a 48mm IDF Weber carb set up for my engine. I consists of 4 dual Webers, intake, vacuum line kit, K&N Filters etc... but now I am starting the get cold feet. I have heard many stories as to how hard they are to set up. I ran into a guy who restores cars and he said he would never put Webers on a vette, it is just wrong. They sure are nice to look at....in the box.
They aren't any more difficult to tune than other carbs, in fact they may very well be easier..if you know what you're doing and have the proper tools. Some things are very important like setting the float levels.

Have you ever set any up, TT? I have not, but got a laugh from your statement

lol, doing kidney biopsies are pretty easy for me, but that's 'cause I've got a biopsy gun and know what I'm doing.
Vizard says they're better than FI when set up right, but his language seemed to infer that you've got to kind of be in some kind of 'inner circle' to be able to do it right.
I run webers and they are NOT hard to setup . Talk to people that run them and have set them up and get meaningful info . You will really like the end result ! BTW ,,, once they are set they stay that way .

They could give you a fit if you had to commute to work up a mountain . But then again there have been some pretty stout cars running pikes peak with carbs .
Your largest problem will be getting them synched, and keeping them synched. Two is hard, three is tough, four is nuts.
Three is easy! A basic primary and two secondaries, nothing in there but floats, jets, accelerator pump and 1 power valve in the primary. Runs great! No hesitation or bog anywhere. Once they are jetted right and the secondaries are set to open at the right time the linkage is set so all three throttle plates open all the way at WOT. 4 would be really cool! Just do it! it will all be worth it in the long run!
