Whenever my I start up my '76 Vette, it takes a couple of attempts to get the car to idle. Also, once I put it into drive, it tends to be really hesitatant (i.e. likely to stall) for the first few minutes or so. Once I've got the revs up it's fine, and I only get this problem when I'm cranking from cold. I reckon it's a carb issue, but does anybody else have a similar experience? Hopefully a cheap fix!!
I have a similar problem and am working on getting the choke set up properly. Here is a great article that should help. I haven't tried it yet as it is my next project. I ordered a new choke spring and am awaiting its arrival.
