Tie the two white wires together.

I have a 78 and right now my white wires are cut & spliced, bypassing the timer (lil orange box). Everything works, but the courtesy lights won't go off by themselves. I intend to replace the timer someday, but for now it's no big deal.

Why don't you send it to me, I will see if I can fix it. I am sure I can repair it for less than is costs to replace.

Cheers

If they wont go off by themselves, I mean by closing the doors , you have a bad door switch, or the light switch over ride is turned on.

You should be able to unplg the delay and plug the wires into themselves without cutting them if I remember right and the courtesy lamps still work with the door, just no delay. I can't remember the exact way, just experiment which 2 go together for them to still work

Sorry, my bad, I meant they wont go off automatically with the delay. Yes, they do go off when you close the door.
