When I push the throttle to the floor from a dead stop it takes a while for it to get up and go. It stumbles real bad and if I feather the throttle it will eventually go. It also stumbles when I try floor it while driving at any speed. I am guessing the carb needs a rebuild. It starts and runs good. My question is should I try to rebuild it? Or have it rebuilt? Or buy a different new carb? If so what is recommended for a relatively stock 350 automatic? Thanks

Check for vacuum leaks, good spark, correct timing before deciding.
I suggest rebuilding your q-jet by Lars .

Check and set your secondary airvalve spring windup to 3/4 turn. Verify your choke pulloff is hooked up and functional. And above all else, make sure you have 36 degrees total timing and make sure your vacuum advance is operational.
