I just got off the phone with the tech dept at SDPC and they told me that the performer intake has a carb height of 4.05" the vortec performer 4.57" vortec performer rpm 4.72" and vortec performer rpm airgap 4.72". So it looks like the vortec performer is only .502" say 1/2" taller. I have a friend of mine that told me he has a performer rpm intake on his 77 Vette I'm going to his house tonight to see for myself. I'll post what I see later. If he has the performer rpm I have no problem with what I want to do.

Thanks, after reading this thread I am thinking of pulling me reworked 76 heads and going with the Brodix Iron Killer heads.
edit*
All right I found them. For you that have them did you go with the DUAL valve springs or the SINGLE valve springs???

I went by and checked on the 77 that my friend has it has a performer intake with a Holley 650 and a 3" K&N filter. It fits under the hood no problems. It was not the rpm intake!

YOUR Spring choice depends entirely upon which cam YOU have ... clearly spell out the details of YOUR cam and someone can make a recommendation. ie Hyd/solid ... flat/roller ... with lift & duration numbers. No need to write a book ... just the cam type & specs.
