Default dash removal question

I have been able to remove the left and right sides before. I am having some difficulty getting the upper dash out. it seems to be catching on something. Can the upper dash be removed without removing the windshield?

Thanks

Yes it can. Do you have the center console gauge's out? There is a screw the holds the wiper switch housing up that screws into the upper dash pad. There also is a screw on the passenger side close to the middle that needs to be removed. There are clips that go under the lower part of the windshield frame. I can't remember if the defroster vent is secured with anything, might want to check your AIM. I have also found that if you remove the A piller post moldings the dash pad come out ALOT easier. I alway check my AIM before doing interior stuff because you never know where :chevy hides screws and fasteners.
Good luck
John

Even with the A-pillar post padding removed there is still some interference. Some further ideas are to heat the pad with a hair dryer, a heating pad, or leave the car out in the sunlight. This should allow the pad to bend a slight amount and clear the A-pillars.

Oh ya I forgot to mention that the pad will need to be bent a little to clear the a-pillers....thanks Jim
