Default Delco starter de-code please.

I replaced my starter today. I don't think the one I took off is the original, but before I send it in for a core, I would like to make sure. The numbers on the starter housing are as follows.

1108430 4f 5 2

What does this come out as?
1984?

1108430=1970/1975 Vette with Turbo Hydramatic trannie small block. Classified the "First Design".

4F52
4= 1974 production year
F=month June
52= ? should be the day of the month, are you sure it's 52?

Source: "Corvette by the Numbers"

Your 72 BB with Auto should have 1108429. (Profiles are very useful.)

That starter is worth more than $25. as people are looking for dated starters for judging.

Heck, John Pirkle just might give you something more for this. He is the starter and alternator guru who does the best jobs for NCRS. Maybe he is paying more for Corvette cores than your FLAP.
