Default AC / Heater blower

I have a few questions. Did a quick search & did not find my specific answer.

I was having problems with my ac/heater blower motor. I thought it was bad. Got to looking, I had a wire come loose from the last time I was in there replacing the overflow bottle - I guess. Anyway the power wire came loose. Now the blower motor only works on high. The relay seems to be working fine and the system is grounded well.

What are any other items that I can check?

Any and all help is appreciated. Thankfully I started poking around after diagnosing the "bad" blower motor and found the bad connection.

Look at the speed control resistor, it is the plug located on top of the AC box

how do I diagnose if it is bad or good?

Do I just replace it?

take it out with the 2 mounting screws and see if its bad. There should be power applied to it at different points for the different speeds. There are 3 resistors on the thing, they look like springs. Check for power on the connector for the low and medium speeds. High is powered straight from the relay

The blower relay is only for high speed. The other speeds are run by the speed control resistor as mentioned by SIXFOOTER.

Did your lower speeds work before the overflow tank replacement? If so, you might check that the 4 wires on the relay are in the correct locations. Black goes on the lone terminal, purple goes on the single terminal in the group of three and then blue goes below and left of the purple wire while orange goes below and right.

Isn't there a fuse for the lower blower speeds and a separate 30 a. fuse (left inner front fender) for the hi-speed setting? If so, check the fuse block fuse.
