Barely! I had an Edelbrock Pro-Flo RPM on my 77 several years ago. The only air cleaner that would fit was one of those triangular downflow types with a foam filter element. I had to grind off 1/4 to 1/2 inch from the bottom to get more clearance, and you will also probably have to sacrifice your hood insulation pad.
I have a car in the rebuild shop right now with a new crate engine and the Edelbrock Pro-Flo RPM EFI. Not a Vette...an Avanti. Still it has limited hood clearance.
While my car isn't done yet, it looks like a stock type air cleaner won't clear the hood. I'm not yet sure a drop base air cleaner will work. My other two options are the Holley Hi Tek air cleaner, or go to a supercharger carburetor bonnet with a remote air filter. I won't know yet for a couple of weeks.
Wish I could give you a better answer. I know it can be done...just what the exact answer for you is may take some experimentation.
