Default 71 heater core replacement

does the core come out from the inside of the car or from under the hood.replaced one in 1977 but have forgoten how i did it. any tips would helpful. thank you

it has speed nuts in the engine bay. I believe there is 6 of them.

The heater core comes out from the inside.

It comes out from the inside. There's a couple clips that hold it to the heater box. The foam gasket around the tubes seals against the firewall. The studs go through the firewall and locate in holes in the blower motor box. Note that this is a non A/C 71'. A/C might be different.

Default From the outside

With the engine out, I just swapped one from the engine bay side. Pull the heater box cover and swap it out. Pretty simple.
