I got the issue with the balancer clearing the crossmember handled. When I test fit the motor it wasnt tilted correctly, and it made the balancer pulley rub which it is not now. I ended up reversing the bracket that the idler pulley is attached to, and machined the aluminum down a little bit so it would fit properly, and now the idler sits up and in more than it did before. This should still be ok though since there is enough movement in the tensioner to keep the belt where it should be.
