Carb gasket - 71 sb/Qjet. Where to purchase?
Anyone know where I can buy the thin gasket for a 71 Q jet? AZ and AA have the thick version, I need the other thin one that goes between the thick and the base of the manifold.

There are 2 gasket "systems" used with the Q-Jet:
The first gasket system, and the most common, is a single 1/4" thick gasket. You can get these from any NAPA store.
The second system is used on cars that have the exhaust groove crossover ("hot slot") that runs from side to side just forward of the primary throttle bores in the intake manifold. If your maifold has this exhaust groove, you need a 3-piece gasket set that consists of a composite hi-temp lower gasket, a stainless steel center gasket, and a special shaped top gasket. All 3 gaskets are thin and must be used as a set. I have all 3 of the gaskets avaiable as a kit if your manifold requires this setup. You can e-mail me for info and a photo:

A thin gasket is never used in conjunction with a thick gasket. And if your manifold does not have the hot slot, you need to only use a single thick gasket.

The base of the carb is irrelevant. It's the manifold design that drives the gasket configuration. What manifold do you have?

Again, if you show me your manifold, or tell me what you have, I can tell you what the correct gasket is for your setup. The carb is irrelevant - all Q-Jets have the same bottom configuration and can use any gasket. Gasket type is determined by the manifold design.

That's not a 1969 L46 manifold - it's an aftermarket manifold, so you're not returning the engine to "original specs"... That being the case, use the standard 1/4" thick open gasket that was used on all Q-Jet installations without the 1969 stock "smiley-face" heat crossover manifold:
This is the actual 1969 L46 cast iron intake manifold. It uses the "smiley-face" heat crossover for carb pre-heat, and it uses a completely different set of gaskets than the aftermarket intakes:
These are the gaskets for an actual L46 engine. You cannot use these "correct" gaskets due to the incorrect, aftermarket intake that you are running:
