I use these board as a confessional. For years I was told that the half shafts should/could not be balanced because of their length/short, so I never had them balanced. I had been guided by inhiereted ingnorance. Just got back from the driveline shop, both were way out, they now are balanced. The guy showed me driveshaft that was half the lenght of my halfshafts and was balancing it. The things you learn.

Were you having bad vibes from your unbalanced half shafts?

I've heard this by some also I think it's usually that they think it's not neccessary because they don't run the high RPM's that a driveshaft does.

I had no vibes good or bad, at least from my car. Since I had the works out of the back end I thought ahhh what the heck, I'll take it all in, and in it went. By the by, it is funny/sad how people do not inspect ebrake equipment as I have only had the car for 6 months and during inspection found the springs and related parts to be broken and in gereral, not good. Sooooo full stainless is in order and soon to be installed. The next time I buy one I will ask the owner when the last time the rear bearings were done.

With 3:55 rear gears, at 2,500 rpm cruise your half-shafts are spinning at an incredible rate of 704 rpm. The drive shaft shops will balance them because they can. They make money no matter how short, or slow, the shaft turns. I may be wrong, but I have never seen a C-2 or C-3 halfshaft with factory balance weights.
