I have my motor out. Ordered replacement motor mounts for a 77 corvette. When I fit them to the frame, they 'do not' fit snug. Should they? Seems to have some side to side play. Is there supposed to be a shim in between?
I trashed my old ones (mistake I know)...so I can't compare. Lesson learned.

I had the same problem with a set I ordered from a large Corvette specialty house (1/4" side-to-side gap).
I ordered a set of GENUINE GM motor mounts from the local Chevy dealer - they fit perfect - no gap - just like the originals.
1/4" is too much....send them back. Mount should slip easily over the frame horn...or fit snug. A tiny bit of play is OK cause the ears will crush some when you torque the bolt.
