Howdy,
I recently purchased a 79 model. It is red, runs strong.new leather interior. All in all in pretty good shape.
The VIN # is 1Z8789S415643
The engine # is V0512TYU C7UZ03798 3970010

I believe the VIN indicates A L48 engine. From my reseach I do not believe the engine is original to the car. Can any one tell what the motor is from? And possibly the specs.

I can now justify purchasing a 350/290hp long block from summit. If i add my performer intake and edelbrock 700 or maybe it a 750cfm i fergot which it is. And also headers, Wonder wht kinda hp i'll make. Maybe a cam also. Any recemendations will be greatly appeciated.
