Default windshield wipers

Still have wiper problems on my 69 vette.
I have 3 vacuum hoses coming from my headlights, one is about 3/8 dia with red stripe. Can anyone tell me where it goes??? My diaghram shows 3 hoses going to vacuum tank, can only find 2 outlets and they are used. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

The second link is the one you need. There should be three ports on your vacuum tank, the main vacuum tank is just to the drivers side of the brake booster/master cylinder, under the fender....its lovely to get to.

Default Red Stripe hose

The hose with the red stripe should be going from a relay to the acuators, that one shouldn't be coming back to the vacuum tank. But who's to say someone didn't just run a newer hose with red stripe on it.
The links provided above give a good overview, but on my '69 BB I only have two ports on my vacuum tank, one going to the manifold and the other coming to a 'T' (with a yellow stripe) that goes to the headlight relays up front, and over to the wiper door relay on the pass inner fender. I'm not sure how much models differ, but you might want to just follow the logical 'flow' of vacuum from the manifold and see how yours is currently routed.

The best way is to start at the mainfold and work your way through the system, I tend to ignore the colors unless its a brand new hose kit that YOU are installing. (My wiper system was all red hoses, go figure).

Which actuator do you have for your wipers? There appears to be several. there is one that is about 4" dia x 5" long, then one that looks like front actuators. Does it matter which one is used?
my vacuum tank only has 2 ports that i can find, is this correct?
Should the actuator hold a vacuum?
Thanks for your time

I believe the 69 has the long vacuum actuator. The 70 to 72 have the actuator that looks like the headlight actuators.

The actuator does not hold vacuum. The vacuum tank does.
I have 3 ports on my tank. It looks just like in the 2nd diagram in the post above. One connects to the intake manifold. One goes straight to a headlight actuator. One comes out and Ts to the wiper door and headlight.

thanks for info. I put my vacuum gage on the actuator and it didn't hold vacuum. I would think it would have to. If you have 3 ports on your vacuum tank are they all obvious to find? do you have one relay at headlights or two?

Yours should actually be set up just like the link above. See if the vacuum tank is holding vacuum. Tha actuators should hold vacuum, but don't need to. If they move the doors with a hand pump, they should be OK. I will do some research on the 69 and see about the tank ports.

On my 72 there are 2 ports at the top and one below.
Do you have an AIM? It will show you hose routing etc.

I have 2 relays for my headlights.

Maybe I misunderstood your question about the actuators holding vacuum. They should not leak - but they do not really store vacuum. The relays direct vacuum to one side of the actuator or the other to open or close the headlight or wiper door.
