Well after lurking in the background and reading on here for at least 8 hrs a week, I finally have to ask.
I have been building a 69 convertible and have a complete new drive train in. Sent it to get painted and had the wife run the hood over ( I work away from home). The hood sits flush on the carburator GRRR.
I have an L88 hood but it just doesn't spin my toque. I am going to have to go with a hood scoop on the standard hood I have. Question is, are there any hood scoops that won't make the car look like a Dodge truck. Has anyone got a pic of one?

In a word, no.
If you must use a scoop, I can't imagine a better choice than the L88.
I found a Hood Scoop for C3's at www.carhoods.com of all places. I can't tell front from rear on it but it does look ok, I think, not sure actually, can I get some opinions? Just look for corvette on the leftSorry, it's the "Thunderbolt" I'm looking at

Reason: incomplete
If the stock hood is sitting flush on the carb, i doubt the stinger hood will give you the clearance you need. My guess would be that the stinger hood will only give you a couple of inches, be a thin breather to fit with that hood.
John Roth,
I was curious what engine and intake you have to run into this problem.
I never liked the 4 inch cowel hood scoops. That was untill i seen pics of it on a corvette, those vetts look great with that hood!!!!!!!!
