Power steering controll valve ???????
If this is the case, yes, you have unseated the seals in the valve and most likely it will leak when you start your engine. I think that you will need to rebuild your valve. I doubt that a small amount of grease is going to ruin your power steering fluid.
It would seem to me that adding too much grease at the zerk fitting would cause the boot seal on the stud to rupture before the grease would ruin the lip seals inside the valve. However, I have heard about this leaking seal issue when people grease their control valve more than a few times on the Forum. Can anyone describe what they found when they went into the valve and fixed just this type of problem?

As for the grease - yes it came out around the adjusting nut, and it started even before the boot seal was full.
Should I start it up? Or replace the valve first?
